Gautam buddha story: Do good deeds and be happy

Gautama Buddha always advised to do good deeds and be happy. According to Gautama Buddha, advice and knowledge should only be given to those who need it. Often, we start giving advice to others just to show ourselves as intelligent, even if the other person does not need it. Such people end up proving themselves foolish instead of wise. Those who give advice can also be of two types. One, who speaks big words, but they have no effect on others. On the other hand, some people just say a word and it shakes the hearts of people. Therefore, before giving knowledge, it is necessary to make your words valuable. Let's understand this through a story.

Once, Buddha was passing by a road when a monk was attracted to his radiance. The person asks Buddha, "Are you a god, venerable one?" Buddha says, "No. I am just an ordinary human like you, but the difference is that I am awake, and you are still asleep." The monk says, "Looking at the radiance on your face, it seems that you are an enlightened person. So, I want to know who your mentor or guru is?" Buddha says, "Initially, I had many gurus, but I walked alone on the path of self-realization and made hundreds of mistakes. Then I found my own way to enlightenment."

This story tells us that no matter how many mentors or gurus we have, the path to self-realization is a personal journey. It is essential to learn from the experiences of others, but ultimately, it is up to us to find our own way to enlightenment. It also emphasizes the importance of being awake and aware of oneself and not blindly following others' advice.
